Carbopol 940 is a white to off-white powder, a crosslinked polyacrylic acid polymer, used as a thickening and gelling agent in various applications. Its specifications include a loss on drying of 2.0% max, a viscosity of 25,000-47,000 cps (0.2% and 0.5% solutions respectively), and solubility in water. It is a highly efficient rheology modifier that can create clear, sparkling gels or hydro-alcoholic gels and creams.
